This update provides the community with information regarding progress on this year’s labor negotiations. 


Cle Elum-Roslyn Education Association (teachers)
Collective Bargaining Update

The District and CEREA tentatively agreed to a 1-year contract agreement for the 2018-19 school year on September 28, 2018 and the school board approved the agreement at their school board meeting on October 8, 2018.


Public School Employees (classified staff)
Collective Bargaining Update

The District and PSE met several times during July, August and September to discuss contract language proposals and wage increase proposals.  On September 17th, the district and PSE tentatively agreed to the contract language proposals.  The District and PSE have not been able to reach agreement on wage proposals.  At this point (November 6, 2018), PSE has made application to PERC (WA State Public Employment Relations Commission) for mediation.  

Following are the last wage proposals (counters) discussed by both sides:

Public School Employees Cle Elum-Rolsyn School District

1. Wages: 11% increase

 

 

 

1.    Wages:  
a.    3.1% on all hourly wages 
b.    plus, for the 18-19 contract year    (1- year duration), increase the base contract for all permanently hired staff by 5%

2.    Longevity language
a.    At the beginning of the 11th full year of service and every year thereafter, the wages of each employee shall be increased by the equivalent of one (1) weeks salary.
b.    At the beginning of the 16th full year of service and every year thereafter, the wages of each employee shall be increased by the equivalent of two (2) weeks salary.
c.    At the beginning of the 21st full year of service and every year thereafter, the wages of each employee shall be increased by the equivalent of three (3) weeks salary.
