Dear Families and Friends,
It’s hard to believe that 2020 is just around the corner. I trust that all of you are ready for a much needed break. These past two nights, I joined many of you in celebration of our talented young musicians and their teachers with back-to-back holiday performances. It was their contagious spirit that reminded me of the power this holiday season brings. We live in such a magical place, full of wonder and joy. And observing the many faces in our audience is another reminder that we are surrounded by love and support from all of you.
I am so thankful that our schools are special places overflowing with people who remain dedicated to creating space for all students and families to belong; to feel valued, cared for, and celebrated. It is especially this time of year when we need to look to each other for support, and make an extra effort to look out for one another.
While this season brings many reasons to celebrate and be joyful, I’d like to recognize that this time of year can be equally challenging for many others. The pressures of the season can leave us with feelings of isolation, anxiety, and stress. I hope that you are able to take time to reach out to those around you and let them know how much you appreciate them. Be kind to others, and be kind to yourself. Kindness is more powerful than any gift we can buy. Link to video: What does kindness mean to you?
I wish all of you a healthy and happy holiday season.
See you in 2020!
