Working Together to Promote Achievement and Create Success

The Special Education Department provides specially designed instruction and related services to serve students with disabilities. Cle Elum Roslyn School district engages in ChildFind and other identification activities, and provides appropriate services for all identified students with disabilities. Our goal is to assist each student to achieve academic success, and to make the transition from school to the community and the world of work. We are committed to providing a comprehensive program of instructional and related service options for a Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) for all children with disabilities, ages birth to twenty-one years.

Our high school transition program offers comprehensive life skills education for our students which include: an espresso business as well as outside employment experiences throughout the community in local businesses, participation in the Special Olympics and other great learning opportunities. Last year, our students worked in various locations throughout Kittitas County gaining valuable life skills in preparation for their transition after graduation. We are very excited about the growth of this program and will continue to pursue  the highest level of transition services. Our goal is for our students to be valued and productive citizens within our community.

We continue to strive for high quality special education services which meet the individual needs of each student. If you would like more information on our special education programs please contact Carrieanne Selzler, Director, at (509) 649-4807.
