The Washington Mask Challenge is on!

The Office of Lieutenant Governor Cyrus Habib just announced the launch of the Washington Mask Challenge!

This 2020 Mask Challenge is a statewide initiative to encourage Washingtonians – our students! – to make, wear, and donate cloth face masks for verified organizations throughout Washington State, such as nursing homes, homeless shelters, food banks, and more. Students can support our state’s essential workers and their own families by following these simple instructions to make and send cloth masks.

This challenge follows new CDC and DOH guidance advising the general public to wear masks while performing essential tasks, however, the Lt. Governor’s office, OSPI and our partners continue to emphasize that masks are not meant as a replacement for social distancing or proper handwashing.
