The Cle Elum-Roslyn School District was honored to welcome a visiting team from Monroe School District to our elementary “Zen Den” this fall. The Monroe team first connected with us during our presentation at the Washington State MTSS Conference this summer, where we shared how the Zen Den supports our tiered system of social-emotional interventions.
Following that presentation, the Monroe team reached out and requested a school visit so they could see the program in action. During their visit, they observed our intervention groups, learned how we use screeners to identify students for support, and saw firsthand how we respond to student needs and crisis events within our tiered model.
The Monroe visitors expressed their excitement about bringing ideas back to their district to design a similar social-emotional support structure. We are proud to share our journey and to help other districts strengthen their own MTSS frameworks to meet the needs of the whole child.
