Stephen J. Brady Stop Hunger Scholarships

  • The Stephen J. Brady Stop Hunger Scholarships are designed to recognize and reward the great steps students are taking to fight hunger in our communities across the United States.

Scholastic Art and Writing Awards

  • Each year, Scholastic sponsors a variety of scholarships for creative individuals in the art and writing areas. Students may submit original works in the following categories: 

  • ARTISTIC

  • Architecture, Ceramics/Glass, Comic Art, Design, Digital Art, Drawing, Fashion, Film & Animation, Jewelry, Mixed Media, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, Sculpture, Video Games, and Art Portfolio, or

  • WRITING

  • Dramatic Script, Flash Fiction, Humor, Journalism, Novel Writing, Personal Essay/Memoir, Persuasive Writing, Poetry, Science Fiction & Fantasy, Short Story, and Writing Portfolio.

  • Submissions may be made online or by mail. Check the website for details and individual category rules.

Equitable Excellence Scholarship

The 2023 scholarship is now open for applications.

Applicants to the Equitable Excellence℠ Scholarship Program must:

  • Be a United States citizen or legal resident living or claiming residency in one of the 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia or Puerto Rico.

  • Be a current high school senior who plans to enroll full-time in an accredited two-year or four-year college or university in the United States for the entire 2023-24 academic year.

  • Demonstrate ambition and self-drive to be a force for good in school, community or work

The authorized distribution for new awards is up to $750,000. Up to 100 renewable awards of $5,000 each and up to 100 one-time awards of $2,500 each will be granted as follows:

  • Top 100 applicants – $5,000 awards are renewable up to three years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first, on the basis of satisfactory academic performance and continued enrollment, and

  • Next 100 applicants – $2,500 one-time awards are not renewable.
