Elk's USA: The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Legacy Scholarship

  • Legacy awards are $4,000 scholarships available to children and grandchildren of Elks members.

  • For the 2023 contest, any child or grandchild (or step-child, step-grandchild, or legal ward) of a living Elk who joined the order on or before April 1, 2020, or a charter member of a Lodge that was instituted on or after April 1, 2020, is eligible to apply. The Elk must also be a paid-up member through March 31, 2023. Great-grandchildren are not eligible.

  • The applicant must be a high school senior.

  • Deadline: February 5th

WSECU: Washington State Employees Credit Union

  • Every year we extend an invitation to our members who are beginning or continuing their higher education to apply for a scholarship. This year we awarded $100,000 to 38 deserving recipients. 

  • The application period runs from December to February each year.

  • Recipients are selected and notified in the spring.

  • WSECU members of all ages are welcome to apply.

  • $2,000 is awarded for two-year colleges and vocational schools.

  • $3,000 is awarded for four-year undergraduate and graduate programs.

  • Applicants must be WSECU members. (Go to wsecu.org and request membership).  

  • WSECU partners with Scholarship America for the oversight of the application process. To apply, please visit the Scholarship America website, where you'll find eligibility requirements, complete details on what you'll need to complete the process successfully and the application itself.

  • Deadline: February 12

Hispanic Scholarship Fund

  • The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) Scholar Program is designed to empower courageous young leaders of Hispanic heritage. The program helps ensure students achieve their higher education and career goals.

  • Successful candidates are selected on the basis of academic achievement, personal strengths, leadership, and extracurricular accomplishment.

  • The selection process for the HSF Scholar Program is based on merit. HSF does not consider financial need during the selection process. However, for Scholars who are selected to receive a scholarship, financial need will be taken into consideration to determine the amount of the award. 

  • HSF Scholarship award amounts range from $500-$5,000, based on the student’s total financial aid package.

  • The initial application is a short questionnaire that should take no more than one hour to complete. 

  • No essays, recommendations, or document uploads are required in Phase I

  • This application opens January 1st and this application closes February 15th

YVCC Foundation Scholarship

  • Every year, the Yakima Valley College Foundation awards scholarships to more than 200 students, with an average award amount of $3,500.

  • All current and incoming YVC students, including undocumented students, are eligible to apply.

  • The YVC Foundation administers and awards scholarship funds from several different donors. A complete list of Scholarships & Awards is available online at  www.yvcc.edu/foundation/scholarships 

  • The Foundation staff will match recipients to the appropriate scholarship(s). Scholarships are presented at the annual awards ceremony held in June. 

  • Deadline:  February 29th

College Board Opportunity Scholarship

  • The College Board/Big Future Scholarships is an exciting new scholarship program. Students don’t have to write an essay, fill out an application, or have a specific GPA or test score to participate. The program gives students a simple six-step college plan and rewards students with scholarships ranging from $500 to $40,000 (from a monthly drawing) for simply completing the actions they need to take in order to apply to college.   • The Scholarship Program was created to celebrate and reward the effort students put into getting ready for college. The Scholarship Program seeks to clarify the complex college planning process and motivate and reward students to prepare for college with scholarships based on their efforts and action.

  • Deadline:  End of February during your senior year.

  • You can start this scholarship process and receive scholarship money during your Sophomore year of high school!

  • Scholarships are awarded every month from January through June of your senior year. A new eligibility window starts on the first day of each month and ends at midnight on the last day of the month.

Association for Computer Professionals in Education (ACPE)

Washington State Baccalaureate Opportunity Scholarship

  • The Washington State Opportunity Scholarship (WSOS) is available for Washington State students pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering, math, and health care. We provide students with up to $22,500 in scholarship funding towards a 4-year college degree and connect them with peer and professional mentors to help them achieve success from the first day on campus to their first day on the job.

  • Must be a resident of Washington State.

  • Have a Washington State high school diploma or GED.  

  • Must have a cumulative grade point average through fall quarter or semester of at least 2.75.

  • Have total family income (adjusted gross income plus all untaxed income) that does not exceed 125% of Washington state family median income based on family size

  • Intend to complete a bachelor's degree in an eligible high-demand field high-demand major in STEM or health care from an eligible Washington state college or university; students may begin at a two-year public community or technical college.

  • Renewable for up to five years based on credits completed and continued eligibility.                      

  • Complete the 2023-24 FAFSA or WAFSA by February 28, 2023. 

  • Apply at https://www.waopportunityscholarship.org/

  • Deadline:  Opening  January 4  and closing February 29  

Women's Cyber Security Scholarships

  • Up to ten scholarships will be awarded. Each scholarship award will be between $1,000 – $5,000

  • If awarded: the funds will be sent to the school with instructions that it be applied to tuition, fees and books. Recipients do NOT recieve award funds.

  • Awards do not renew. You will need to reapply each year in order to be considered for another award.

  • Must be pursuing, or plan to pursue, a degree with a focus on cybersecurity, information assurance or similar field.

  • You may be a senior in high school, an undergraduate student, graduate or postgraduate student to be eligible.

  • GPA must be at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or an analogous rank based on a comparable scale).

  • You may be a citizen of any country (US citizenship not required).

  • May be attending on campus or online.

  • May be attending full-time or part-time

  • May be attending in the US or Internationally

  • You do not currently need to be enrolled, however, no awards will be disbursed until the recipient is enrolled in a college or university.
