Scholastic Art and Writing Awards
Each year, Scholastic sponsors a variety of scholarships for creative individuals in the art and writing areas. Students may submit original works in the following categories:

Architecture, Ceramics/Glass, Comic Art, Design, Digital Art, Drawing, Fashion, Film & Animation, Jewelry, Mixed Media, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, Sculpture, Video Games, and Art Portfolio, or
WRITING
Dramatic Script, Flash Fiction, Humor, Journalism, Novel Writing, Personal Essay/Memoir, Persuasive Writing, Poetry, Science Fiction & Fantasy, Short Story, and Writing Portfolio.

Stephen J. Brady Stop Hunger Scholarships
The Stephen J. Brady Stop Hunger Scholarships are designed to recognize and reward the great steps students are taking to fight hunger in our communities across the United States.

Elks Most Valuable Student
Ranging from $1,000 per year to $12,500 per year, Most Valuable Student scholarships are for students pursuing a four-year degree, on a full-time basis (minimum of 12 semester hours), in a U.S. college or university.
All scholarships are in the form of certificates of award conditional upon the full-time enrollment of the winner in an accredited U.S. college or university.

Hagan Scholarship Foundation
The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship for high-achieving, self-motivated students. The Hagan Scholarship provides up to $6,000 each semester to attend college, workshops to learn important life skills not typically covered in the college curriculum, $1,000 to purchase college essentials, $1,000 to open a Personal Brokerage Account, a $15,000 HSF Brokerage Account to manage, and up to $8,000 to study and travel abroad.
Eligibility Requirements
1. Must be a U.S. Citizen.
2. Must attend a traditional public high school governed by a school district.
3. Must have achieved a 3.50 Cumulative Grade Point Average.
4. Must enroll at an Eligible Four-Year College or University the first semester following high school graduation.
5. Must maintain a four-year or less graduation schedule in college.
6. Must work 240 hours each year, from January 1 until the commencement of the fall semester in college. Employment must be regularly scheduled work performed under supervision for compensation.
7. Applicant’s Gross Household Income reported for 2021 Federal Income Tax Purposes must not exceed $85,000. “Household Income” is defined as the total gross income received by all members of a household living under the same roof.
8. Must provide the first five (5) pages of the FAFSA SAR, the EFC must be shown on the first page.
9. Must apply for Federal and State grants if eligible.
10. Must not have a felony conviction.
The intended recipient of a Hagan Scholarship is a high-achieving student having clear goals in need of financial assistance to attend college.

National Multiple Sclerosis Society Scholarship
The National MS Society is designed to support families impacted by MS by connecting them to key resources and support that help minimize the cost and isolation that exists for students affected by MS who are pursuing a college education. The selection process takes into account the whole student-FFA involvement, work experience, supervised agricultural experience (SAE), community service, leadership skills, and academics.

Grow Ag Leaders exists to make youth aware of the various career opportunities within the industry of agriculture by providing scholarships that help further their education. WACTA An Association of Career & Technical Education Administrators
Scholarship Information:
The Washington Association of Career and Technical Administrators awards up to ten scholarships each in the amount of $1,000 for graduating Washington State high school seniors.

Washington NASA Space Grant Consortium Scholarships for Incoming Freshmen at U of W
Washington NASA Space Grant Consortium annually offers scholarships to incoming first-year students planning to study science, technology, engineering, or mathematics at the University of Washington.
These competitive scholarships are open to accomplished high school seniors, Running Start students, and Early Entrance students.
Applicants must be U.S. citizens and Washington State residents.
Awards are based on high school academic achievement, standardized test scores, personal essays, recommendations, and future academic promise.UW Space Grant scholarships range from $2,000 to $5,000. Scholarships are awarded for one year at a time. Scholarship recipients may apply for award renewal for up to three years, depending on the availability of funding. Candidates for renewal must be enrolled in an eligible major, earn a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or better, and maintain program requirements for their majors.

Washington State Fair Foundation
The Washington State Fair Foundation is pleased to present scholarship opportunities to local high school students for continuing education.

KPMG Future Leaders Scholarship
KPMG Future Leaders Program continues to focus on developing future generations of women leaders.

Elk's USA: The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Legacy Scholarship
Legacy awards are $4,000 scholarships available to children and grandchildren of Elks members.
For the 2023 contest, any child or grandchild (or step-child, step-grandchild, or legal ward) of a living Elk who joined the order on or before April 1, 2020, or a charter member of a Lodge that was instituted on or after April 1, 2020, is eligible to apply. The Elk must also be a paid-up member through March 31, 2023. Great-grandchildren are not eligible.

WSECU: Washington State Employees Credit Union
Every year we extend an invitation to our members who are beginning or continuing their higher education to apply for a scholarship. This year we awarded $100,000 to 38 deserving recipients.
The application period runs from December to February each year.
Recipients are selected and notified in the spring.
WSECU members of all ages are welcome to apply.
$2,000 is awarded for two-year colleges and vocational schools.
$3,000 is awarded for four-year undergraduate and graduate programs.
Applicants must be WSECU members. (Go to wsecu.org and request membership).

Hispanic Scholarship Fund
The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) Scholar Program is designed to empower courageous young leaders of Hispanic heritage. The program helps ensure students achieve their higher education and career goals.
Successful candidates are selected on the basis of academic achievement, personal strengths, leadership, and extracurricular accomplishment.
The selection process for the HSF Scholar Program is based on merit. HSF does not consider financial need during the selection process. However, for Scholars who are selected to receive a scholarship, financial need will be taken into consideration to determine the amount of the award.
HSF Scholarship award amounts range from $500-$5,000, based on the student’s total financial aid package.
The initial application is a short questionnaire that should take no more than one hour to complete.
No essays, recommendations, or document uploads are required in Phase I

Association for Computer Professionals in Education (ACPE)
Each year, ACPE awards up to $10,000 in scholarships for Oregon and Washington graduating seniors who plan to pursue technology in higher education.
Successful applicants have studied and used technology in innovative ways throughout their high school career, and can demonstrate their work through a project. The project itself can take many forms, including but not limited to a website, app, video, podcast, webcast, etc., produced sometime during their high school years.

Gesa Credit Union Scholarship
Gesa will be awarding:
Two $5,000 and ten $2,000 scholarships to entering first-year college students.
One $5,000 and five $2,000 scholarships to current college students.
Five $1,000 Student Loan Repayment scholarships to eligible members with accredited degrees.
$50,000 in scholarships to seniors who have participated in Gesa’s High School Credit Union Program.

YVCC Foundation Scholarship
Every year, the Yakima Valley College Foundation awards scholarships to more than 200 students, with an average award amount of $3,500.
All current and incoming YVC students, including undocumented students, are eligible to apply.

College Board Opportunity Scholarship
The College Board/Big Future Scholarships is an exciting new scholarship program. Students don’t have to write an essay, fill out an application, or have a specific GPA or test score to participate. The program gives students a simple six-step college plan and rewards students with scholarships ranging from $500 to $40,000 (from a monthly drawing) for simply completing the actions they need to take in order to apply to college. Washington State Baccalaureate Opportunity Scholarship
The Washington State Opportunity Scholarship (WSOS) is available for Washington State students pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering, math, and health care. We provide students with up to $22,500 in scholarship funding towards a 4-year college degree and connect them with peer and professional mentors to help them achieve success from the first day on campus to their first day on the job.
Must be a resident of Washington State.
Have a Washington State high school diploma or GED.
Must have a cumulative grade point average through fall quarter or semester of at least 2.75.
Have total family income (adjusted gross income plus all untaxed income) that does not exceed 125% of Washington state family median income based on family size
Intend to complete a bachelor's degree in an eligible high-demand field high-demand major in STEM or health care from an eligible Washington state college or university; students may begin at a two-year public community or technical college.
Renewable for up to five years based on credits completed and continued eligibility.
Complete the FAFSA or WAFSA by February 26, 2025.

Women's Cyber Security Scholarships
Up to ten scholarships will be awarded. Each scholarship award will be between $1,000 – $5,000
If awarded: the funds will be sent to the school with instructions that it be applied to tuition, fees and books. Recipients do NOT receive award funds.
Awards do not renew. You will need to reapply each year in order to be considered for another award.
Must be pursuing, or plan to pursue, a degree with a focus on cybersecurity, information assurance or similar field.
You may be a senior in high school, an undergraduate student, graduate or postgraduate student to be eligible.
GPA must be at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or an analogous rank based on a comparable scale).

The Washington Apple Education Foundation (WAEF) Scholarships
Washington Apple Education Foundation/Universal – Students raised in families with direct ties to Washington’s tree fruit industry are eligible to apply. Ties to the industry are created through an immediate family member or personal employment in an apple, cherry or pear orchard or warehouse in Washington, immediate family ownership of an apple, cherry or pear orchard or warehouse in Washington or immediate family employment in a company directly serving the apple, cherry or pear industry in Washington. Employment must be current and to have been ongoing for a minimum of 12 consecutive months. Additionally, students with a desire to work for Washington’s tree fruit industry may also qualify. Washington Apple Education Foundation/Vocational – Washington state high school seniors or current college students from Washington are eligible. The path of study should align with potential work in the tree fruit industry. In 2025, the AWS Foundation will award more than $1.5 million in scholarships!

WSSR (Washington State School Retirees’ Association) Scholarships
(Robert J. Handy/WSSR Foundation/Gene Forrester Memorial Scholarships)
The Washington State School Retirees Association (WSSRA) invites high school seniors to apply for the Robert J. Handy and WSSR Foundation scholarships. These awards are given to students who plan to pursue a career in education.
Statewide sixteen (16) WSSR – Foundation Scholarships and sixteen (16) PEMCO/ Robert J. Handy Scholarships and two Gene Forrester Memorial Scholarships will be awarded to students whose degree would be in one of these areas: teacher, counselor, speech therapist, occupational therapist, social worker or school psychologist.
For the WSSR Foundation, eight $3,000 award and eight $2,000 awards will be granted in each of the eight WSSRA regions. (Total of 16 Scholarships will be awarded)
For Handy, sixteen $900 scholarships (redeemable for four years) will be awarded in each of the eight WSSRA regions by PEMCO. (Total 16 Scholarships awarded)
In addition, two (2) Gene Forrester Memorial Scholarships at $2,000 each will be awarded to students with a GPA of 3.0 or higher and who will major in Agricultural Education at Washington State University.
Also, in each of WSSRA's eight regions, local WSSRA units may award additional scholarships.
WSSRA collects and distributes applications to readers in our eight regions who will select the recipients.Applicants will be notified by May 16, 2025, if they have been chosen.

Learning about a cancer diagnosis – your own or that of a loved one – can cause a storm of emotions, and everyone experiences it differently. We want to know what this experience was like for you.

We invite you to submit a short essay about your experience with cancer for the opportunity to win cash prizes. Since the contest began in 2006, we have received over 7,000 submissions and handed out over $200,000 in prize money to teens.

Microsoft Scholarship for Students with Disabilities
This scholarship will be awarded to promising high school seniors with disabilities who plan to attend a vocational or academic college and target a career in the technology industry. The scholarships are renewable – each winner who continues to meet the criteria is eligible to receive an annual award of $5,000 for up to four (4) consecutive years for a potential total $20,000 scholarship.
To be considered for the Microsoft Disability Scholarship, you must:
Be a current high school senior living with a disability (as defined by WHO), whether that be visual, hearing, mobility, cognitive, speech or other disability.
Plan to attend an undergraduate program in a 2 or 4-year University/College or Technical College in the fall of the academic year following high-school graduation. Schools must be in the USA or have a USA-Affiliate for financial transactions (contact Seattle Foundation to verify non-USA school eligibility).
Declare an approved major in engineering, computer science, computer information systems, law, business, or a related field (e.g. paralegal, pre-law, finance, business administration, or marketing).

SCFF Washington State Council of Fire Fighters Benevolent Fund Scholarship
WSCFF Benevolent Fund Scholarships are awarded annually to dependents of WSCFF members and retirees.
Applicants must be a senior in high school and planning to attend an accredited university, community college, or trade school.
Candidates are scored on their GPA, class load, extracurricular activities, letters of recommendation, and an essay.

The George and Dorothy Marsden Scholarship Fund
The George and Dorothy Marsden Scholarship Fund was established by Mrs. Marsden to help academically promising students from the Inland Northwest maximize their potential at the world’s best colleges and universities. Up to two new Marsden Scholars are named each spring from high school seniors whose permanent legal residence is within the Episcopal Diocese of Spokane, and a number of scholarships are renewed.

Now accepting applications for the 2024 Gesa Credit Union, Dairy Farmers of Washington, Les Schwab Tires Smart Choices College Scholarship Program which will award three (3) $5,000 scholarships and 12 $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors from WIAA member high schools for excellence in athletics/activities, academics, leadership and community service throughout their high school careers.

Washington State Snowmobile Association Scholarship (WSSA)
The applicant must be a member of the Washington State Snowmobile Association.
The applicant must submit the completed WSSA application form.
The applicant must submit a resume detailing his/her involvement in snowmobiling as well as extra-curricular activities.
The applicant must include an essay (see the subject in the current application). The essay should be a minimum of 2 pages double-spaced and typed. Keep in mind that a well-researched, comprehensive essay will undoubtedly be significantly longer and we certainly encourage that.

Washington Masonic Charities
Washington Masonic Charites provides higher education scholarships exclusively for high school seniors who are deserving members of our Masonic family or Masonic Youth Orders to pursue college, university, or vocational/technical education after high school. These scholarships are not open to the general public.
Masonic Legacy Scholarship – $3,750 each--Washington Masonic Charities is proud to offer four $3,750 regional scholarships for high school senior–aged children, grandchildren or dependents of a Washington Mason in Good Standing.

P1FCU Scholarship
P1FCU will award fifteen (15) $1,000 scholarships for the 2023-2024 school year. We will honor those students who demonstrate academic excellence and exhibit outstanding contributions to their community and school. A selection committee consisting of a P1FCU board member, executive management, and employees will review each application and score-based application criteria as well as the quality of resume, cover letter or video.

2023 high school graduate with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Acceptance as a full-time student at a college or university (must provide acceptance letter or other proof.

The Rita Lowe Washington State Mathematics Council (WSMC) & PSCTM Scholarship-High School Division
Description and Eligibility
This scholarship is endowed by the estate of Rita Lowe, a former Renton mathematics educator, WSMC board member, and PSCTM president.
Up to four scholarships of $1000 each will be awarded in 2024 to graduating high school students.
Any senior graduating from a high school in Washington State who is planning to attend a college or university within Washington and is planning to major in Mathematics Education and pursue teaching certification to become a mathematics educator is eligible to apply.
In selecting the recipients, the committee will give consideration to academic achievement, demonstrated intent to pursue mathematics education, academic potential, and character and leadership potential.

Yakima Federal “Award for Academic Excellence”
Yakima Federal in 1975 established an "Award for Excellence" for the purpose of recognizing high academic achievers graduating from high school and a resident in Benton, Franklin, Kittitas or Yakima County. This year again we are granting a considerable number of $2,500 awards based on the following criteria:
Top ten percent of graduating class; (Check with counseling office to see if you qualify and pick up application information).
Community Service and Leadership activity within and outside the school environment;
One-page Letter of Motivation outlining future plans, school and life experiences, including any challenges faced and overcome, the impact of receiving an award plus any additional information to support their selection for an award;
Two letters of recommendation;
A statement signed by a school official indicating anticipated class rank.

WSADA (Washington State Auto Dealers Association) Bright Future Scholarship
Washington’s franchised new car and truck dealers have worked hard to grow their businesses and are great employers who give back to their communities. The Washington State Auto Dealers Association (WSADA) will award two (2) $3,000 scholarships to individuals enrolling and four (4) $3,000 scholarships to individuals currently enrolled in a Washington State automotive technology program (full list of schools available at www.wsada.org).

McPartland Law Offices Scholarship Program
McPartland Law Offices awards five $ 500.00 scholarships to deserving seniors in eastern Washington (the senior must graduate from a high school in Okanogan, Chelan, Douglas, Grant, Kittitas, Yakima, Klickitat, Benton, Franklin, Walla Walla, Asotin, Garfield, Columbia, Whitman, Adams, Lincoln, Ferry, Stevens, Pend Oreille, or Spokane County).
The applicant must write a short essay, describing the way in which the civil justice system has impacted their life. This may be a direct impact, insofar as the person or a family member may have been involved in a claim or suit. It may be more indirect, for instance, a way in which a civil case involving total strangers impacts the world in which we live.
The application will be graded on essay quality and presentation, as well as the applicant's high school achievements.

Horatio Alger Career & Technical Scholarship
The Career & Technical Scholarship Program is funded through the generosity of Horatio Alger Association Members, Dennis R. Washington and Jim F. Dicke II. Scholarships are awarded to students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their lives who wish to pursue a career or technical education at an accredited non-profit post-secondary institution in the United States.
Eligibility Criteria:
Have completed high school (or earned a high school equivalency credential) by July 1
Be enrolled in an associate’s degree, certificate, or diploma program by September that will lead to employment
May not be enrolled in pre-requisite courses
Attend a not-for-profit post-secondary institution
Demonstrate financial need; applicants must either show family income of $55,000 or less OR prove Pell Grant eligibility
Be under the age of 35
Be a United States citizen
Funds may be used for any costs associated with earning a degree/certificate including, but not limited to: tuition, fees, books, supplies, transportation and other personal expenses. All scholarship funds are paid directly to the institution on behalf of the recipient.

Elk's USA: The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Legacy Scholarship
Legacy awards are $4,000 scholarships available to children and grandchildren of Elks members.
For the 2023 contest, any child or grandchild (or step-child, step-grandchild, or legal ward) of a living Elk who joined the order on or before April 1, 2020, or a charter member of a Lodge that was instituted on or after April 1, 2020, is eligible to apply. The Elk must also be a paid-up member through March 31, 2023. Great-grandchildren are not eligible.

WSECU: Washington State Employees Credit Union
Every year we extend an invitation to our members who are beginning or continuing their higher education to apply for a scholarship. This year we awarded $100,000 to 38 deserving recipients.
The application period runs from December to February each year.
Recipients are selected and notified in the spring.
WSECU members of all ages are welcome to apply.
$2,000 is awarded for two-year colleges and vocational schools.
$3,000 is awarded for four-year undergraduate and graduate programs.

Hispanic Scholarship Fund
The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) Scholar Program is designed to empower courageous young leaders of Hispanic heritage. The program helps ensure students achieve their higher education and career goals.
Successful candidates are selected on the basis of academic achievement, personal strengths, leadership, and extracurricular accomplishment.
The selection process for the HSF Scholar Program is based on merit. HSF does not consider financial need during the selection process. However, for Scholars who are selected to receive a scholarship, financial need will be taken into consideration to determine the amount of the award.
HSF Scholarship award amounts range from $500-$5,000, based on the student’s total financial aid package.
The initial application is a short questionnaire that should take no more than one hour to complete.

YVCC Foundation Scholarship
Every year, the Yakima Valley College Foundation awards scholarships to more than 200 students, with an average award amount of $3,500.
All current and incoming YVC students, including undocumented students, are eligible to apply.

College Board Opportunity Scholarship
The College Board/Big Future Scholarships is an exciting new scholarship program. Students don’t have to write an essay, fill out an application, or have a specific GPA or test score to participate. The program gives students a simple six-step college plan and rewards students with scholarships ranging from $500 to $40,000 (from a monthly drawing) for simply completing the actions they need to take in order to apply to college. Association for Computer Professionals in Education (ACPE)
Each year, ACPE awards up to $10,000 in scholarships for Oregon and Washington graduating seniors who plan to pursue technology in higher education.
Successful applicants have studied and used technology in innovative ways throughout their high school career, and can demonstrate their work through a project. The project itself can take many forms, including but not limited to a website, app, video, podcast, webcast, etc., produced sometime during their high school years.

Washington State Baccalaureate Opportunity Scholarship
The Washington State Opportunity Scholarship (WSOS) is available for Washington State students pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering, math, and health care. We provide students with up to $22,500 in scholarship funding towards a 4-year college degree and connect them with peer and professional mentors to help them achieve success from the first day on campus to their first day on the job.
Must be a resident of Washington State.
Have a Washington State high school diploma or GED.
Must have a cumulative grade point average through fall quarter or semester of at least 2.75.
Have total family income (adjusted gross income plus all untaxed income) that does not exceed 125% of Washington state family median income based on family size
Intend to complete a bachelor's degree in an eligible high-demand field high-demand major in STEM or health care from an eligible Washington state college or university; students may begin at a two-year public community or technical college.
Renewable for up to five years based on credits completed and continued eligibility.
Complete the FAFSA or WAFSA by February 26, 2025.

Women's Cyber Security Scholarships
Up to ten scholarships will be awarded. Each scholarship award will be between $1,000 – $5,000
If awarded: the funds will be sent to the school with instructions that it be applied to tuition, fees and books. Recipients do NOT receive award funds.
Awards do not renew. You will need to reapply each year in order to be considered for another award.
Must be pursuing, or plan to pursue, a degree with a focus on cybersecurity, information assurance or similar field.
You may be a senior in high school, an undergraduate student, graduate or postgraduate student to be eligible.
GPA must be at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or an analogous rank based on a comparable scale).
You may be a citizen of any country (US citizenship not required).
May be attending on campus or online.
May be attending full-time or part-time
May be attending in the US or Internationally
You do not currently need to be enrolled, however, no awards will be disbursed until the recipient is enrolled in a college or university.
