Dear Cle Elum-Roslyn Community,
The Cle Elum-Roslyn School District is ready for another incredible school year! There’s nothing better than the excitement of seeing our students and staff return, filling our schools with energy, curiosity, and community.
This summer, our campuses were full of improvements—resurfaced tennis and pickleball courts, new track throwing areas, a refreshed track, freshly painted gym ceilings and walls, updated handrails for safer bleacher access, and new court logos. We also created a smoother, safer asphalt walking path along Swiftwater Lane between our schools.
We’ve made major investments in security, with all-new lockdown and secure access systems, updated card-entry points, and enhanced safety features to better protect students and staff every day. In addition, we are taking steps for classroom enhancements, including new curriculum, improved special education spaces, and more access for Americans with disabilities. We’re excited to share the improvements made possible through the Capital Projects Levy, and we appreciate the community’s support in making these upgrades a reality. There is more to come!
Looking ahead, we’re thrilled to partner with our football boosters on the new Warrior Field House and locker rooms (by the track)—an investment that will serve all of our student-athletes for years to come. This project reflects the generosity of countless volunteers and donors who stepped up to make it a reality. It’s a true example of our community’s commitment and care for Cle Elum-Roslyn schools. We will share all who contributed as we near its completion.
This year also brings new programming and coursework, while we continue to prioritize small class sizes for more personalized learning. Recognizing the growing mental health challenges facing today’s youth, we’re expanding opportunities for physical movement, outdoor learning, and recreation to support the whole child.
Equally exciting is the arrival of talented new staff who bring fresh expertise and enthusiasm to our team. Their commitment to our students’ success will make this year one of growth, innovation, and opportunity.
Thank you for your continued support of our schools. Together, we are creating vibrant spaces where every student is known by name and inspired to thrive. If I can be of any assistance to you, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Here’s to a great year!
Be well and see you soon.
All my best,
John H. Belcher (“JB”)
