We are excited to share this as our official announcement that our district is upgrading our student database system! We are moving from SMS 2.0 to Qmlativ, an updated Skyward platform that is more modern and user-friendly for our families and students.
To make this transition, we will have a brief period where our Skyward systems are offline. Please take a moment to look over the timeline and details below so you know what to expect.
The Transition Timeline
Wednesday, April 1st at 3:30 PM: SMS 2.0 Shutdown Access to the current Skyward system will be turned off for everyone at this time.
April 2nd – April 12th: Migration Period: The system will be "dark" while our internal team reviews the data and prepares the new site. During this window, you will not have access to grades, attendance, or food service balances. ParentSquare will remain operational for all communication needs.
Monday, April 13th: Qmlativ Goes Live: The new system will officially go “live”! We will send the link out directly via ParentSquare on that Monday, and the link will also be updated on our district website.
Key Information for Families
Your Credentials: No new account creation necessary! You will use the exact same login and password you currently use for SMS 2.0 to sign into Qmlativ.
The Skyward App: You can still use the app, but you will need to delete and reinstall it on your device on or after April 13th to connect to the new system. Instructions can be found here!
Payments: If you make payments via the online store while the system is down (April 2nd–12th), please note they won't show up in your student's balance until Qmlativ goes live on April 13th.
Guides: We will be posting resources and "how-to" guides on the district website to help you get settled.
Supporting Our Students
We want to make sure our students feel confident with the new system. During the week of April 13th, staff will work with students in class to learn how to check their grades and view missing assignments on the new website.
Join us at the MS Commons for an In-Person Help Night!
If you’d like a quick tour of the new system or need help with technical questions, come see us after school!
When: Monday, April 20th, 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM
Where: Walter Strom Middle School Commons
Bonus: Everyone who attends will be automatically entered into a small raffle.
