Cle Elum-Roslyn School District students had a strong showing at the 2026 Kittitas County Fair and Livestock Show, earning championships, blue ribbons, special awards and opportunities to advance to state-level competition. We want to take a moment to recognize and congratulate the incredible accomplishments of our students!
Evelyn Hein - 12th grade
At the Kittitas County Fair and Livestock Sale, September 3–7, Evelyn Hein, senior and FFA member, earned Senior Grand Champion Poultry for fitting and showing with her second-generation show hen and Grand Champion Poultry for her market turkey. Evelyn also earned High Point in Air Pistol, Champion in Demonstrations, Reserve Champion in Art and Best in Show for Art through 4-H. She will continue on to the State Fair with her 4-H clubs.
Sophia Beedle - 11th grade
At the Junior Horse Fair, held August 20–23, junior and FFA member Sophia Beedle earned the Sportsmanship Award and a bronze medal in Western Equitation. She also qualified for state competition, where she will represent her 4-H club, Gallop and Graze.
Klaire Kastner - 6th grade
Klaire Kastner, a sixth-grade 4-H member of the "MOOve It or Lose It" Club, earned Grand Champion in Showmanship with her steer project during her second year of showing.
Elle Rose Lanphere - 12th grade
Senior FFA member Elle Rose Lanphere earned Senior Grand Champion in Youth Arts, Crafts and Photography, as well as a Judges' Choice Rosette. She also volunteered her time helping livestock exhibitors with barn decorations and setup.

We also recognize that all of our CERSD students who participated in the fair may not have been listed here. We are proud of your hard work and dedication!
The fair season reflects months of hard work, responsibility, and preparation. Many of these students also balance their projects with athletics, music, jobs, volunteering, and other extracurricular activities.
Kyle and Lacey Nicholson, who were both very involved in supporting students and their fair projects, shared:

Congratulations to all of the Cle Elum-Roslyn students who participated in this year's fair. Their dedication, teamwork, and commitment to their projects are accomplishments worth celebrating. With some students already preparing livestock, breeding projects, and art entries for next year's fair, the work is already underway for 2027!
