On December 4, the Cle Elum-Roslyn High School chapter of the National Honor Society proudly inducted 24 new members during its annual induction ceremony. These students joined 48 returning junior and senior members, bringing the total NHS membership to 72 students.

Membership in the National Honor Society is a significant academic and personal achievement. Students are selected based on their commitment to the four pillars of NHS: Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. Inductees are expected to uphold these standards throughout their high school careers and serve as role models within the school and community.

The Cle Elum-Roslyn chapter of the National Honor Society is now in its 19th year. The ceremony began with a welcome address from Principal Scott Brown. The keynote address was delivered by Brian Avery, Career and Technical Education Director and Dean of Students, who was selected by NHS members to serve as this year’s keynote speaker.

The candle-lighting ceremony was led by the current NHS Executive Board: Rachel Mendenhall, Cienna Smith, Riley Robinson, Benson McNally, and Addison Wudi. Their participation highlighted the leadership role NHS members play within the school.

The CERHS National Honor Society is advised by Katia Merkel and co-advisor Alexis Tiffany. Advisor Katia Merkel emphasized the dedication and hard work demonstrated by both new and returning members, noting the positive impact the organization continues to have on the school community.

Congratulations to all CERHS National Honor Society members for their commitment to excellence and service!
