CERHS Students Earn Spots in Prestigious Youth Leadership Pilgrimage

Two Cle Elum-Roslyn High School students, Taylor Dycus and Lainey Gray, have earned an extraordinary opportunity to represent their community on a two-week educational journey to the East Coast this summer. The students competed on January 11, 2026, for a coveted spot in the Independent Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF) Pilgrimage for Youth, a highly selective leadership and cultural exchange program.

Both Taylor and Lainey advanced through an extensive application process that included written submissions and the delivery of speeches before a panel and an audience. Their strong presentations and demonstrated leadership qualities resulted in an exceptional outcome: both students were selected as winners!

The IOOF Pilgrimage for Youth is a transformative leadership program designed to empower high school students through travel, cultural exchange, and historical exploration. Sponsored by the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, the program fosters global citizenship, leadership skills, and lifelong friendships while promoting the organization’s core values of fraternity, charity, and truth.

Participants travel together to significant historical and cultural landmarks, engage in thoughtful discussions, and take part in activities intended to encourage personal growth and discovery. The experience brings together young leaders from different communities, creating an environment that supports learning, collaboration, and broadened perspectives.

Taylor and Lainey's selection reflects both their individual achievements and the strength of the Cle Elum-Roslyn community. Their upcoming journey promises to be an enriching experience that will shape their academic and personal futures while representing their school and town with distinction.
