Prevention Club presentation

On April 15th, 2026 members of the High School Prevention Club presented to the local Rotary Club, sharing their prevention efforts and youth advocacy work. Students highlighted their involvement in legislative advocacy, including efforts related to flavored tobacco and kratom, as well as their role in helping address the proposed vape shop location near the teen center. They also shared their work providing education on kratom, which contributed to the City of Cle Elum passing a ban on kratom sales within city limits.

In addition, students showcased their involvement in school and community initiatives such as the Samantha Skunk program, tabling events, participation in the Southeastern Regional Youth Summit, STARS assessments, and more. Their presentation demonstrated the powerful impact of youth voice and leadership in creating positive change within their community.
