We’re taking a moment to recognize and thank our incredible school leaders for their dedication, vision, and care. Our principals work tirelessly to support students, staff, and families — fostering positive school cultures and inspiring success every day. Even as the month winds down, our appreciation for their leadership continues all year long!

The Elementary School will be released at 12:25pm, and the Middle and High Schools will be released at 12:30pm. Buses will be running on an early release time as well. If you have any questions, please call the school's main office.

Transportation Reminder: SmartTag Use Required
Dear Families,
The Cle Elum-Roslyn School District Transportation Department would like to remind families of the importance of students using their SmartTag cards each time they ride the bus. SmartTags help us maintain accurate ridership records, support student safety, and improve communication with families.
We’ve noticed a few students with new cards who may not be scanning regularly. Please remind your student to scan their SmartTag when boarding and exiting the bus.
There is a $5 replacement fee after the third lost card and any additional SmartTag cards that need to be printed. Continued lack of SmartTag use may result in a temporary pause of bus privileges until the student is in compliance.
If you have questions or need a replacement card, please contact the Transportation Department at 509-852-4832.

Important Notice: Healthy Youth Survey (HYS) for HS & MS Students
Dear Parents and Guardians,
This fall, our schools will be participating in the Healthy Youth Survey (HYS). Youth in Washington State have been taking the HYS since 2002, and participation has grown from just a few thousand to over 215,000 students each year.
The survey asks about important topics that affect our youth, including:
How youth are doing in school and in their daily lives
Social relationships and connections
Mental health and well-being
Substance use
Risks for injury and safety concerns
The results from the HYS help communities, schools, districts, and public health agencies better understand the needs of young people. The data informs policies and programs designed to support student health, safety, and success. It is also an important way for youth to share their voices and guide the future of our state.
Survey Dates:
High School: October 16, 2025
Middle School: October 20, 2025
Participation Information:
The survey is voluntary. Students may skip any question they are not comfortable answering.
Families may choose to opt their student out of participating.
Students who are opted out will remain in class and participate in an alternative reflection activity focused on current student health and safety topics.
Your youth’s participation is greatly valued and helps ensure we have accurate, meaningful information to support our students and community. Please take a moment to talk with your youth about the survey and decide together if they will participate.
For more information, please review the attached Healthy Youth Survey Fact Sheet, which provides additional details. If you would like to preview the survey questions, copies are available online at www.AskHYS.net or through the district.
Thank you for supporting your students and for helping us strengthen youth health and well-being.

A cheerleading session is being offered for middle school girls who are interested in learning new skills and gaining performance experience. Participants will have the opportunity to practice cheer routines and perform at both a middle school basketball halftime and a high school halftime. This is a great way for students to build confidence, develop their abilities, and get a feel for what it might be like to take part in the Warrior Cheer program in the future! This Fall Session begins October 3rd, on Fridays and select Tuesdays. The Session is $190, registration $30, and uniforms $45. Location of practices will be at the Roslyn Gym (208 W. Idaho Ave). To register or ask questions, contact Misty Favero at (509) 304-4851.
Please note that this is not a school district-sponsored program, but is an optional opportunity designed for middle school students who would like to explore cheerleading and gain experience.
