Cle Elum Roslyn School District created this page to to keep the community and staff informed on collective bargaining efforts with the Cle Elum Roslyn District employees who are represented by labor unions, we have included the following information about our bargaining efforts and easy access to collective bargaining agreements. During the 2024-25 school year we will be actively bargaining with certificated labor unions. Below you can find their current contracts for your review as our efforts to keep our staff and community informed and be transparent in how we are utilizing our generous community resources.

REPRESENTED ORGANIZATIONS:

  • Public Employees of Cle Elum- Roslyn (PSE): Classified Staff including Administrative Assistants, Office Assistants, Kitchen Staff, Technology, Safety & Security Coordinator, Transportation, Maintenance Staff, and Paraeducators.

  • Cle Elum Roslyn Education Association (CEREA): Certificated Staff including Teachers, Counselors, and Specialists.

Bargaining Norms

  1. Be On Time and Prepared
    Start and end on time (3:30–5:00 or 3:30–5:30). Come ready to begin—avoid immediate caucus requests.

  2. Come Prepared
    Set calendar dates in advance and bring all necessary materials, including copies for all parties.

  3. Communicate with Respect
    Be kind, professional, and focus on issues—not individuals. Disagree without being disagreeable.

  4. Keep It Focused
    Prioritize key issues. Avoid overloading the process with excessive or unrelated topics.

  5. Use Caucus Time Wisely
    When caucusing, agree on a clear time frame 

  6. Maintain Confidentiality and Clarity
    Honor confidentiality, establish clear objectives, and use agendas to manage time effectively.

  7. Address Breaches of Norms Promptly
    If a norm is breached, lead negotiators and a partner from each team will meet to discuss and resolve the issue collaboratively.

  8. Bargain with District Employees: The goal is for negotiations to be conducted primarily by district employees, fostering a collaborative team approach

CERSD Administration and PSE came together to provide this update after the conclusion of this years bargaining.

  • May 15, 2024: PSE and District discussed & set norms and what documents to bring to the table next meeting.

  • June 3, 2024: District shared information requested by PSE and PSE presented their proposal to District.

  • June 13, 2024: District responded to proposal with a proposal.

  • June 27, 2024: PSE and District reached tentative agreements.

CLE ELUM ROSYLN EDUCATIONAL ASSOCIATION: Contract Renew through August 31st, 2025.

  • April 17, 2025: CEREA and District - went over norms and dates for negotiations.
