District Partnership Highlight

Students in the Cle Elum-Roslyn School District’s BEST (Building Essential Skills Together) program recently took to the skies—figuratively—during an unforgettable field trip to the Museum of Flight in Tukwila, Washington. This special outing was more than just a day of hands-on learning; it was the latest chapter in a year-long partnership with the Kittitas School District’s Life Skills program.

Throughout the school year, students from both districts have joined together for weekly outings, including visits to Trellis and other community-based learning experiences across Kittitas County. These shared experiences have helped students develop authentic friendships, foster social-emotional growth, and practice essential life skills in real-world settings.

The Museum of Flight trip was a highlight for many students, offering a rich, interactive experience that sparked curiosity and connection. From exploring historic aircraft to engaging in flight simulations, students were immersed in a world of aviation while deepening bonds with their peers from Kittitas.

The collaboration between Cle Elum-Roslyn and Kittitas School Districts demonstrates the power of inclusive programming and cross-district partnerships. By working together, both schools have created meaningful opportunities for students to learn, connect, and thrive—together.
