Dear Families and Community,
As we wrap up the 2024–2025 school year, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt appreciation to our students, families, staff, and community for making this a year marked by growth, resilience, and meaningful achievement.
We began the year by completing a complex remodeling project, including the installation of eight new portables just in time for the start of school. This allowed our Early Learning team to launch the year in state-of-the-art classrooms designed specifically to support our youngest learners.
Throughout the year, we’ve pursued innovative ways to support student well-being. We were awarded several grants focused on reducing mental health challenges by increasing opportunities for physical activity and outdoor, experiential learning. These efforts are already making a positive impact on student engagement and wellness.
We’re especially excited about a new partnership with the Boys & Girls Club of Upper Kittitas County. Together, we are in the planning stages for a new community facility at the site of our former "tech house," which will provide expanded programming and resources for students and families throughout the region.
Looking ahead, we’re preparing for a busy and productive summer. Thanks to community support of our Capital Projects Levy—and in collaboration with our Booster Club and Football Boosters—we will be completing several upgrades across our campuses.
Projects include:
A new locker room facility
Upgrades to the middle school gym
Safety and security improvements districtwide
Enhanced ADA accessibility to better support all students
Track and tennis court improvements
Additional maintenance and modernization efforts across school sites
This year has also been filled with rich learning experiences, student performances, athletic successes, and events that brought us together as a community. The pride we feel in our students reflects the strength of the partnerships that support them.
To our remarkable staff—thank you for your tireless commitment to students. Your care and professionalism create an environment where children are not only challenged academically but are also known, supported, and inspired. This year has also brought difficult changes due to necessary budget reductions. We recognize the stress and uncertainty these changes have caused, including shifts in positions and roles. These decisions have been incredibly hard, and we deeply value the dedication and grace with which staff have continued to show up for students and one another. Please know that the well-being of both students and staff remains our top priority as we work to rebuild a budget that is not only responsible but sustainable for the long term.
To our families and community partners—thank you for your continued trust and collaboration. Together, we are building something special. Enrollment is open and we welcome all interested families.
As summer begins, I hope you find time for rest, joy, and connection. We look forward to welcoming students back in the fall, ready to begin another year of learning, growth, and opportunity.
Wishing you a safe and restorative summer.
