Good Afternoon CERSD families,

This afternoon we have an increased presence of the Kittitas County Sheriff Office at Cle Elum-Roslyn schools as there was a "hoax" threat made to Ellensburg High School today. We were informed that EHS went into lockdown briefly as a result of the hoax. We also have received information that a similar threat was made in two other districts around Washington State.

Out of an abundance of caution, we had our staff keep students indoors during recess, PE and  were escorted if traveling between buildings.  Law enforcement will continue to be on site for the remainder of the school day.  Afterschool programs and athletics will continue as scheduled and coaches will have the option of utilizing our indoor space.

Again this threat has been deemed a hoax by law enforcement.  As always we want to make sure our families are informed as to why we have additional patrol units on site today.

Although this is a hoax, we still want to ensure that our students are safe and will continue to partner with law enforcement.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.

Be Well.

John Belcher
