The Class of 2026 was recognized for its outstanding accomplishments during two memorable events of celebration held on June 3rd and 4th.
Scholarship Night, held on Wednesday, June 3rd, highlighted the dedication and determination of graduating seniors as they prepared to take the next steps in their educational journeys. Students were awarded nearly $400,000 in local scholarships, representing the largest amount ever distributed through community scholarship support. In addition, colleges, universities, and other postsecondary institutions awarded approximately $600,000 in national and federal financial aid to members of the graduating class.
Scholarships were earned by students pursuing a wide range of opportunities, including attendance at two-year colleges, vocational and technical programs, and four-year universities. This year's senior class also set new records, with more than 10 additional scholarships earned compared to previous years and nearly double the number of scholarship applicants participating in the process. In total, 23 different students received scholarship awards during the evening's program. The extraordinary support shown by local organizations, businesses, families, and donors made Scholarship Night one of the most successful in school history.
The celebration continued the following day during Senior Class Award Day, held on Thursday, June 4, during school hours. The event provided an opportunity to recognize many members of the Class of 2026 for their hard work, leadership, and achievements throughout their high school careers.
The ceremony began with the presentation of departmental scholar awards, honoring students who excelled in various academic disciplines as selected by their teachers. Special recognition awards followed, celebrating excellence in academics, leadership, service, and extracurricular involvement.
Among those recognized were recipients of the President's Education Awards, Academic Achievement Awards, and OSPI Washington State Honors Awards. Students were also honored for their accomplishments in athletics and for their service as ASB Class and Executive Officers.
Additional recognition was given to students involved in organizations and leadership groups including FFA, Warrior Council, School Board Student Representatives, Prevention Club, Interact Club, and the National Honor Society, with eligible students receiving cords and special distinctions. Military-bound graduates were recognized with Military Cords, while Honor Students and recipients of Citizenship Awards were acknowledged for their commitment to academic excellence and positive contributions to the school community.
The program also celebrated students who completed eight or more college courses while still in high school, demonstrating a strong commitment to academic advancement. The ceremony concluded by honoring the class's Valedictorians and Salutatorian, recognizing their exceptional academic achievement and dedication throughout their high school careers.
Together, Scholarship Night and Senior Class Award Day showcased the remarkable accomplishments of the Class of 2026. Whether through academic excellence, leadership, service, athletics, or postsecondary success, these students have left a lasting impact on their school community. The recognition they received reflects years of hard work and perseverance, and their achievements will continue to inspire future generations of students.
