Students in the Cle Elum-Roslyn School District’s BEST (Building Essential Skills Together) program recently came together to make pizza—a fun, hands-on activity that also gave students a chance to show appreciation for their BEST Mentoring teachers.
As students prepared ingredients and assembled their pizzas, they practiced teamwork, communication, problem-solving and other essential life skills in a real-world setting. Activities like this also provide opportunities for students to build confidence, strengthen friendships and support one another.
The BEST program creates meaningful experiences that promote social-emotional growth while helping students develop skills they can use in everyday life. Whether they are preparing a meal, working through a challenge or simply spending time together, students have opportunities to learn, connect and thrive.
