September and October Board Awards - celebrated in October

Congratulations to our recent September and October Board Award recipients (pictured left to right): Presley Ohlemann, Greyson Pope, Stella Kerns, Dash Teh, and Brody Feemster. These students were selected for exemplifying personal growth, perseverance, and positive character. Each has demonstrated determination, kindness, leadership, or meaningful contributions that reflect the values of our schools.

Presley Ohlemann - 12th grade

Presley exemplifies what it means to challenge herself and pursue excellence. She is a 4.0 student who has taken on a demanding academic schedule, including college-level courses at her high school as well as participating in Running Start through Central Washington University. Her commitment to academic success demonstrates an impressive level of discipline, motivation, and time management.

Beyond the classroom, Presley has distinguished herself as a leader and community builder. As President of the Ski and Snowboard Club, she helps lead and organize a club of more than 80 students. Managing a club of this size requires tremendous organization, communication, responsibility, and commitment. Presley works to coordinate activities, support club members, and help raise the funds necessary to operate such a complex and active program.

What makes Presley especially deserving of this recognition is the way she balances these responsibilities. She has not only maintained a 4.0 GPA while pursuing college-level coursework, but she has also stepped forward as a leader who is willing to take responsibility for others and invest her time and energy into creating opportunities for her peers.

Greyson Pope - 7th grade

This school year, Grayson has gone above and beyond by stepping up as a teacher helper in our 3rd-grade PR classes. Demonstrating incredible initiative, he not only volunteered to be a teacher aide to younger students, but he also recognized the value of teamwork and invited another 7th grade friend to join him in helping out.

Throughout his time assisting the 3rd graders, Grayson consistently embodies core character traits that set a powerful example for others:

Initiative & Leadership: He actively seeks out ways to be useful without needing to be asked, taking real ownership of his role as a helper and leader.

Kindness & Respect: He approaches younger students with patience, empathy, and encouragement, making them feel supported and valued.

Trustworthiness & Responsibility: Mrs. Starkovich knows she can rely on him completely to carry out tasks dependably and behave with maturity.

Grayson represents the very best of our middle school student body. His willingness to serve as a positive mentor for younger elementary students strengthens our school culture and makes a lasting impact on everyone around him. He is truly deserving of this recognition!

Stella Kerns - 5th grade

Stella is an exceptional classmate and is already shining this school year! She takes the initiative to support her peers and is always willing to lend a helping hand. Stella helps others not only when asked, but also when she notices that someone needs support.

Stella has assisted classmates with language learning, math concepts, and organization. Her willingness to notice what others need and speak up on their behalf demonstrates an incredible level of empathy. Her kindness, thoughtfulness, and willingness to help others is making a positive difference in our classroom community.

Stella truly deserves to be recognized for the kind and caring person she is!

Dash Teh - 9th grade

Dash has made the transition from middle school to high school seamlessly. He demonstrates strong leadership skills whether it is him leading by example in between classes, during class time or as a fierce competitor on the football team. Dash continues to thrive as a student while taking a rigorous class schedule. We look forward to the many contributions that Dash will make to our school and community over the next few years!

Brody Feemster - 11th grade

Brody has shown immense growth not only in academics, but also as a person. Brody is working hard and succeeding academically. He is advocating for himself, taking ownership, building confidence and truly working hard to do his best. Brody has grown with working through the challenges he is presented with, actively participating, and confidently sharing his answers and explaining how he got them to the whole class. His confidence, resilience and perseverance has grown vastly over the years. We are proud of Brody and all he has accomplished thus far, and are excited to see what he will continue to accomplish in the future.

These recipients reflect the character, effort, and spirit that strengthen our schools. We are proud to honor their achievements and contributions!
