Dear Students, Staff, and Families,

I am heartsick to communicate about another school tragedy that struck the small community of Uvalde, Texas yesterday. This event demonstrates our need as a community to continue to work together on behalf of the safety of our children.

As our hearts go out to the families, staff, and students of Robb Elementary School, I want to review our emergency and safety protocols.

Thanks to the support of our Capital Levies, all of our school buildings are equipped with video surveillance and monitoring systems that prevent our hallways (and buildings) from being entered without permission and a background check. Our staff and students practice safety and lock down drills throughout the school year as well as “See Something, Say Something”

We are grateful to the partnership we have with local law enforcement, our Watch DOGS, and the countless parent volunteers that help us to keep our students safe and cared for.

If you have concerns about your child’s safety, please reach out to your building administrators or child’s school counselor. We are here to ensure that our students feel safe at school.
